The RPG takes place within the confines of a city, devastated and ravaged by the initial attack. The name of the city is forgotten, and no one cares enough to try and remember it. It is nothing more than a stategic position for angels, a demonic hunting ground, and a hideout for mortal rebels.

The original occupants of the city have fled, and no one knows exactly where they are, or what became of them. No one is particularly interested, either. What does interest them is the items left behind.

Many objects which the mortals took for granted - television, the internet, etc - has been completely destroyed. Electronic communication has been cut off. The world leaders have gone into hiding - either that, or been eaten. Electricity isn't entirely gone - batteries still work, and things that could produce their own energy still function. Other than that, they have to get creative.

Thankfully, humankind was provided with another source. When the invaders tore their way into the mortal realm, the mystical energy from their otherworld came with them. Some humans are able to manipulate this energy, and use it to cast spells. It also affected many animals, who have become sentient and aid the humans.

And that is the state of the world currently, and the state of this city.
